Episode 5: Clint Carpenter

Clint Carpenter joins Jonathan Munnier in the studio on this past episode of the Falconry Told Podcast. A lifelong Kentucky native, Clint’s strong small-game hunting background made transitioning to falconry a sure thing. Hawking rabbit and squirrel with Red-Tailed Hawks and then imprinting Cooper’s Hawks and more earned Carpenter a reputation of being one of the more hard-core hawkers in the region, and as newly elected Kentucky Falconer’s Association president, he looks to continue the work of revitalizing falconry in his home state.

“Falconry from the beginning has been full of excitement and adventure. Hunting with birds of prey has truly consumed my life. The never ending practice of learning about this sport through actually handling the birds has been my greatest achievement. Sharing my knowledge, and gaining others’ knowledge through trial and error. Spending 6 months out of every year in devotion to the birds, and to the sport that I hope to continue on for a lifetime. I think my biggest dream is to pass the same experience down to my children, and someday fly along side of them in the field. I’ve met so many great people/falconers during this process, and plan to continue on this incredible journey” - Clint Carpenter.
